Branding / Package
The assignment was to rebrand an existing, successful company that's already out in the public eye. Just choosing a company was daunting, so I searched blog and articles about up and coming companies and found Zip Dial. The core business model was something I was unfamiliar with; they actually market missed calls. Founded in India, ZipDial was successful in capitalizing on the prevalence of “missed calls”. With initial success in India, it expanded globally and was recently bought by Twitter.
I wanted to create a logo that alludes to the phone-based nature of the service itself, and also conveys speed and forward motion, as consumers expect from the mobile services they use. I set up a color palette that would extend to all the packaging and website elements of the rebrand.
Being a hypothetical project, the design couldn't garner any tangible results, but it was excellent to establish a color palette, and research the steps in creating a marketing plan, branding standards and develop advertising and packaging to fit.
